We maximize value for our clients through innovative project solutions, an unwavering work ethic, and deep construction expertise. With annual revenues of $40-50 million and projects ranging from $5M to $100M, we combine the agility and relationship focus of a family-owned business with the sophistication and delivery excellence that complex projects demand.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex, high-profile construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This is not a box-checking role focused on administrative task management. This is a leadership position for someone who takes genuine ownership of project outcomes, thinks strategically about execution, and values building something meaningful alongside a collaborative team.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, design teams, and trade partners on projects valued between $5M and $85M+. You'll have the autonomy to lead your projects with strategic judgment, the resources and support of experienced leadership, and the trust to make decisions that impact real outcomes for real clients.
This role offers the complexity and responsibility typically found at much larger firms, with the direct access to leadership, entrepreneurial culture, and genuine appreciation for your work that only a family-owned business can provide.
Primary Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Client Stewardship
- Serve as the lead DBC representative and primary relationship owner from contract award through final closeout and warranty
- Own all phases of project delivery including preconstruction planning, buyout strategy, schedule development, cost management, quality control, and turnover
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Uphold DBC's standards for safety performance, quality craftsmanship, and client satisfaction on every project
- Represent the company with professionalism and confidence while understanding you are the face of DBC to your clients and project teams
Strategic Execution & Problem Solving
- Lead preconstruction efforts including constructability review, value engineering, phasing analysis, and scope refinement
- Develop and maintain comprehensive CPM schedules that drive proactive decision-making and keep all stakeholders aligned
- Anticipate project risks and develop mitigation strategies before issues become problems
- Navigate complex coordination challenges across design, permitting, procurement, and field execution
- Make sound judgment calls on cost events, change management, and schedule impacts with both client relationships and company interests in mind
Team Development & Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop project teams including Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents
- Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within your project teams
- Foster strong working relationships between office and field staff to ensure seamless project execution
- Support the professional growth of team members through coaching, feedback, and meaningful delegation
- Model the professionalism, work ethic, and problem-solving approach you expect from others
Contract & Financial Management
- Partner with leadership on prime contract negotiation and execution
- Lead subcontractor procurement, selection, contracting, and performance management
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and payment applications with discipline and attention to detail
- Maintain accurate project cost forecasts and lead monthly financial reviews with operations leadership
- Work closely with accounting on job cost reporting, revenue recognition, and cash flow projections
- Monitor budget performance proactively and address cost risks before they materialize
Project Closeout & Knowledge Transfer
- Oversee final inspections, punch list completion, and turnover documentation
- Ensure all contract deliverables are met and client expectations are exceeded
- Conduct thorough project closeout including warranty documentation, as-builts, and training
- Participate in post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future delivery
- Maintain strong client relationships beyond project completion to support repeat work and referrals

- Leadership over prominent private and public-sector projects that matter to the region
Why This Role is Different
Most Senior PM roles in construction are about managing timelines, controlling costs, and keeping clients happy. This role includes all of that–but it's bigger.
You'll have genuine autonomy to lead projects strategically with the backing of experienced leadership who value your judgment. You'll have the resources to execute properly and the trust to make decisions that matter. You'll lead complex, high-profile work in a culture that values the people doing the work as much as the outcomes they deliver.
This is the right role for someone who has proven themselves on complex projects, thinks strategically about execution, values substance over status, and wants to build their career somewhere they're genuinely valued.
If you're looking for a high-profile role where the brand does the heavy lifting, this isn't it. If you're looking for a place to lead meaningful work, be valued for how you think and not just what you deliver, and build something that matters alongside people who appreciate what you bring – let's talk.
