A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROJECT MANAGER-COMMERCIAL BUILDING 

In this project management role, you inspire your team to complete quality construction projects by using your knowledge of the industry and exceptional leadership skills. Your organizational skills shine as you perform contract management, change orders, prepare subcontracts, schedule projects, and consult with superintendents and subcontractors.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PROJECT MANAGER-COMMERCIAL BUILDING

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field, which may include Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Management. A combination of relevant experience will also be considered.
• At least 5 years of experience in commercial building construction is required.
• Work experience in both private and public sectors is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Government contracting.
• The ability to manage projects in size up to $50 million in value.
• Experience with site development, utilities, and building construction.
• Must have working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, masonry, and concrete work disciplines.
• Experience at developing request for proposals and scope of work for subcontracting is required.
• Experience estimating, change order development, tracking, and negotiation required.
• Must have the ability to manage multiple subcontractors simultaneously.
• Ability to develop and review submittals for compliance with project requirements.
• Ability to perform project closeout including; punch list inspections, local building inspections, permits, warranty tracking, and closeout documentation required per project requirements.
• Scheduling utilizing Oracle Primavera P6 or similar software is required.
