Wayne Crouse, Inc. is a Pittsburgh, PA based mechanical contracting/engineering firm, in business for more than 85 years.  We are seeking an Experienced Project Estimator who is both motivated and willing to learn in an extremely fast paced environment.

What you will do:

• Prepare timely and accurate estimates of cost and detailed proposals for the Pre-Construction Department
• Review all bid documents prior to beginning the estimate including pre-bid information, addenda, alternate bid requirements, instructions to bidders, project specifications and project drawings
• Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct project site inspections to verify conditions affecting the pricing and installation of the project
• Develop scopes of work and solicit proposals from equipment suppliers and subcontractors
• Submit proposals explaining our scope of work, project clarifications and any exclusions
• Attend turn-over meetings with project staff to communicate the unique aspects of the project to the installation team
• Assist project managers with pre-construction and construction duties, including purchasing, subcontracting, pricing change orders, etc.
• Maintain a neat and organized work environment conducive to developing accurate and timely estimates
• Operate and maintain a computerized estimating program

What you will need to be successful:

• Five (5) years previous construction estimating experience on projects ranging from $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize workload
• Able to build rapport with customers, vendors and subcontractors
• Strong
• Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
